I have a 98 Mountaineer, AWD 5.0 125000 miles. I have a wierd vibration that starts a 30 mph and continues to get worse when I stay on the gas. It goes away when I let off the gas but comes back when I start to slow down to about 30 mph again. I just go the wheels balance. the alingment seems ok I have no idea what this could be.It only happens when I step on the gas or slowing doen at certain speeds. THanks for any help

Did the vibration start after the tires were ballanced?

I would get under that thing and start checking bolts and things. Look at the drive shafts. Grab hold of them and make sure there is no play. The AWD's are known for having the front go bad. Have an alignment done anyway and then have them check your ball joints, tie rods, and such. Make sure you wheel bearings are good and there is no play.

Let us know what you find.

thanks I will do that. I'll post back with what I find
