problem: sagging factory leafs and the desire for 31's

Question: What's the best way to jack up the ass end? I understand that I can crank the front torsion bars and gain about 1.5" to clear 31's. My problem lies in the back. My rear factory leafs are sagging, noticeably. I want to get rid of the sag and add a little height, about 1.5-2" to match the front. New leaf packs may be in order unless FoMoCo will replace the bad ones I have.

So what's your insight? New lift leaf packs? New OE packs and an AAL? Spacers? Or a combo?

Please help me as I ain't findin' much out there for the 99 and newer Explorers.

TIA

Scotty

First of all, welcome to the site, we have a wealth of information available here.

Old Man Emu offers 2" lift leaf packages, look to spend a few hundred buck though. A lot of people use shackles, but I have to say that an add-a-leaf is a better solution. Add-a-leaf's not only provide rear end lift, but they actually correct the sag problem. Where as shackles merely compensate for the problem. Add-a-leaf's also stiffen up the back end for a better ride in the views of many and also an increase in load carrying capacity. For more info you can perform a search: http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/search.php I know this topic recently came up. Explorer Pro Comp makes an add-a-leaf, if you do a search you can find info on that. If you want evenmore lift you can use both a shackle and add-a-leaf as well. Hope this helps.;)

Most of the people on the site use one of two options....
1. Add-A-Leaf
2. Warrior Shackles
3. New Springs

Myself suggest(and use) the shackles. They replace the stock shackles with some larger ones to lift the rear about 1.5". Do a search on the site for a TON of info on the site. New springs would give you the best ride but are costly.

I'd also like to welcome you to the site. I've found everybody here is very nice and knows just about everything. Welcome.
