I always put the truck on 4 jackstands and run the truck in drive to see if all 4 roll, and also listening for the low speed crunching noise. That's how I diagnosed Shamrock's bad VC...

Do viscous couplings usually fail open or closed? If heat is the usually suspect, then maybe the plates in the VC fuse together...failing closed?

Get rid of the BW4404 !!! best mod I have made to my V8 allwheeldrive is get rid of the allwheeldrive.

The gas savings have offset the cost for the 4406 transfer case(manual) and driveshafts, used parts.

Plus true locked 4 hi and 4 lo is unbeatable....................
