Volt gauge in 93 xlt v6, won't move at all. Reads 8 to 14, but won't budge. Good voltage at battery and when running.
Which wire do I check from alt. or gauge? I don't fell like freezin' my McNuggets off!

What exactly is the problem?

It doesn't move at all, stays on the 8 side at all times. Just like a temp gauge doesn't go off of cold if the sending unit quits.

did you manually check the voltage when the engine is running with the lights and fan on? you may have a charging system problem.

Or it could just be a bad gauge. But I tend to go with the charging system problem.

Everything is fine, lights, stereo, whatever I have on or not. It is charging, but the gauge is not working at all. I don't know if you could ground it like a coolant one or not to see if it is the gauge. If anyone knows, it would be a great help, it's my kids car and I don't want him stuck somewhere if something does go wrong with the charging system.
