I have a 91 eddie and have had the all to popular problem of the volt meter bouncing all over the place.
I have been watching what I do to see what made it better or worse and made a very interesting discovery.
When the gas tank is full the volt needle is solid when the tank gets lower the needle bounces more and more. the problem in my case has to do with the float level in the tank and the signal to the gas guage. The problem I will tackle next is how to solve it. It may be a ground or contact problem???
I have to look at the schematic but I will keep you all posted this may be a fix for others.
I hope it helps
