I will start off by telling you. Last week my alternator died on my way home from work and I barely made it home on the charged battery I had. I replaced the alternator and serpentine belt that night. Ever since then when ever I accelerate or even just give a little gas, dash lights, headlights will dim, if the ac or heat is on the, you can hear the blower will not blow as much. Even the battery gauge will drop and flutter. Once I let off the gas, everything goes back to normal. Do I have a bad alternator? (I bought new from advance) or is this a belt slipping or something else? Please help!

You connected your alternator backwards, so when you give it more RPM it takes away power instead of creating more power.

Lol. Just kidding.
You checked all of your wiring for loose connections?

Are any of your pulleys bad/siezed? (Or hard to turn?)

Could be a bad alty, could also be something slipping. Did you get the right surp belt? If it's the wrong size, it may slip under load. Look at the scribe marks on the tensioner, make sure it's within spec.

I had a wrong belt on my SOHC for about a year until I figured it out.

Problem solved. The connector on the alternator was plugged in but not pushed down all the way. Easy fix.

Glad to hear it was something simple:thumbsup:
