Wait??? Do I have a factory sub?

Ok im reading these post about stock amps and subs, where is mine? Do only some models have them? If so is there anyway I can add one for myself? Is the stock sups in a panel so they can't be seen, because that would be ideal for me. I don't like being able to see all that stuff.

Any help would be great

If you have a factory sub it will be behind the cargo area right rear interior panel and will say MACH Audio on it. If you have a storage basket there you do not have the sub system.

Ok so I don't have a sub.. What would be the best 5x7's to replace my factories with? Im not into spending too much money but Im sure one can find something that could sound better than these 11 year old speakers. Just something that has an overall good sound for both clarity and bass

Could I put that sub/amp contraption into my explorer that never had one? Are the mounts in all the cars?

You could add the OEM enclosure with an aftermarket sub and amp, like my Budget Bass project...

Well that's a good thing. I want something more in my car but, I just want it to sound good, not teeth rattling. I guess i'll start looking for that factory enclosure and hope i can find one cheap.

Ok I went out to a local junkyard and happen to found the entire enclosure without the sub. I did get all the wires that were associated with it. I got this thing for a very cheap price too!! I don't suppose Ford put those wire hook ups in all the explorers did they?

So do you have a post of what you did for the bass budget? I saw your pictures and looks like a heap of wires you put in. Also did you use the original head unit?

I am considering doing this myself as I don't have the sub system but still have the subwoofer fuse in my fuse box What is involved with installing an aftermarket sub in this location? I have the sport model does that affect the OEM sizing?

Well I havent installed mine yet but I have an 8" sub and an aftermarket amp along with a new headunit. im trying to do this as cheaply as possible so I spent 135 on a double din head unit and 55 dollar kicker sub and a 35 dollar el cheapo 300w amp.
