I personally won't use any thing except factory specified fluids in my tranny. Engine cleaners vs. decarbon at the dealer for $175+ hmmm...... tough choice
I've got to run the $2.40 a gallon 91 due to my Apten. It cost me $43 at the pump the other day Oh well, its the price that you pay for performance I guess.

If you're running a chip, and it's set up for 91 octane, then running 91 won't build up the carbon.
The problem is when you are set up to run 87 octane (like a stocker) and you put 91 in. THAT'S when you get carbon build up because the fuel will combust slowly and incompletely, leaving the carbon residue. So running 91 in and of itself is not necessarily bad if your PCM is setup to run that octane.
