It'll go up 4 inches from whatever height you are at. You could always add 4 inch blocks, then use the bags to raise 4 inches to stock height. I think expo5.0 is running his like that( as I understand it).
o man thats not a bad idea at all. I accually already have 2" blocks for the rear as I was going to drop the whole truck 3". Ok so say I get this thing tomarrow, where would I mount the compressor? My whole trunk is full with my system. Is it small I could fit it somewhere else? Any welding involved? And last but not least, when u let the air out of the bags does it go PSHHH
aldive- i lift it to drive on the highway or on bad roads. It improves the ride greatly. plus its fun to sort of show off by throwing the back end up high and sporting the rake and what not.
yes, mine goes from 3" down (plus the 1-1.5" from my 500 pound stereo) up to just higher than stock height.
It definitely makes that sound, but it makes it in the cab- lol. with this system you actually vent the air just like you would when you vent a bike tire and you do it up front in the cab.
as for compressor locations- i have my two compressors mounted on top of the place the spare tire hangs down from. You want to keep it nice and high so you don't put it in the water when you drop your boat off or what not like that. here-
i guess its hard to really tell where they are in that picture, i'm sorry. You can sort of see the location of the wheel at the bottom. Here is another shot of the bag
Thats a damn shame that you cant get a kit for the front like that, I wonder if John V could get something like that rolling ? Or maybe we could even modify those adjustable monroe airshocks to mount up front and hook them up to the controller ?
If this system could mount up to the front also i could accually afford an air ride type system and I would love it. I think i might just buy this kit for the rear for now and get some 3" blocks. Does it require ne welding? And you said the kit's bag didnt work for both sides? What do i do about that?
i know that a great many websites sell this kit as well.
also, the guys at EE have told me that the kit fits on a lowered explorer with the sme bags on each side and that they've done it. all i can say is that it wouldn't have worked that way on my truck.
there is no welding, you just need an ok drill and a few hours. Lets figure out a solution for the front eh?
The only thing i'd say thats sort of against that, is that to do all 4 corners, i'm gonna want to run 4 of those little compressors at $45 or $50 a piece. Also, would need another set of the gauges etc. it might get more expensive than we'd expect.
