I just bought a 97 Explorer v8 awd...the whole nine yards. I am looking to raise it a bit and give it a diffrent tone. I need some advice on a lift kit how big of tires I can run with the lift kit. And I want to run a diffrent exaust too, Something with a nice low tone but lets everyone know I am coming. I am sure you can do a torsion twist and a shackle adjustment for it. But has anyone tried it? Pics would be great if you got them. Thanks

Nobody has any ideas. I find this kinda hard to believe.
I need some help.

i'm not a lift person, but i will answer your questions since no one is. with shackles in the rear and a torsion twist in the front you can do a 2" lift. this should allow you to fit 31s without trimming. as for the exhaust i would just go have a local shop do it. i have a flowmaster suv muffler and it sounds great with my set up. flowmaster is generally the consensus and most people agree that it is better to have a shop do it than to buy a kit. (for example the borla kit doesn't sound quite like it should). you could do a singe 2 in one 3" out muffler or do two mufflers and 2.5 inch duals if you wanted to. any shop can do the single, but if they are confused about doing the duals (our spare tires are a little in the way) just bring them a pic of rtstorks set up. do a search for duals or his name and you should be able to find a pic or two.

ya know whats funny is that i went out and bought a chrome tip for my exhaust its 9in long. and i cut off about 5" of the stock exit pipe. and when i rev the engine it sounds like an aftermarket exhaust. about the lift what expo5.0 said is 100% correct. tires depend on what you have on there now.

well for mods i can tell about performance but not the right tire or lift kit. diablo chip, pro-m mass air, shift kit, exhaust, gears, converter, headers if you can find some, powerdyne supercharger, or nos, roller rockers, E-cam, may be some aluminum heads, and ported intake, and if you really want to get crazey a 347 strocker motor like Troll.
