- 1997 Ford Explorer XLT
I have been given a 1997 Ford Explorer from a friend. It will not start because the fuel pump is bad. I'm looking for the least expensive way to get the part. I've got a friend willing to put it in for $100.
I am recovering from Cancer and am absolutely broke from debt piling and not working. This car is key for me to move forward because I have been riding my bike for a couple years. I'm ready to go to work and need a car to get back and forth.
Details on car:
1997 Ford Explorer XLT (USA Made)
SOHC 4.0L
4 Dr
4WD
I've researched Delphi, Bosch, Airtex, Precision, and Spectra. My mechanic suggests Delphi or Bosch.
I haven't found the part number for the Bosch, but did find what I think would fit from Delphi.
The Delphi part is HP10128 and includes the assembly. http://www.amazon.com/Delphi-HP10128-Hanger-Assembly-Sending/dp/B0054TR53M
My question is, is this the right part #, and is this what I need?
I look forward to a response on the forum and appreciate any advice.
Thanks!
