Hey Guys, just checking to see if anyone who lives in the SF Bay Area has installed a body lift on their Explorer. I have a 98 Sport.

I don't have the tools or the space to do it and was wondering if anyone would be willing to do it (with my help) for a fee. Let me know.

Thanks,
Raphael

Really the only tools required are a 1/2" rachet set, vice grips, and some jacks. (Assuming you're has been in salt free Bay Area since new). I did my BL pretty much by myself with a friend only spinning a wrench here and there.

anyone???

I have done it before on a 94, and I'm down south of you, in Pinole.

I'll talk to a friend of mine - he might want to help.

Hey Thomas, thanks for the reply. How long did it take you to do it on the 94? My 98 is probably very similar, so it would most likely take the same amount of time.

Do you have a garage and tools to do the lift? Let's discuss when you get a chance, I'll email you my number.

Thanks,
Raphael

well thats nice of you! i had to do mine myself, in the driveway, on limited tools, while trying to work around a busy schedule and on a vehicle that has been exposed to salt most of its life (if not all!) working at it an hour here, an hour there and haveing to order a ton of new body mount bushings, buy tools, and borrow tools, it took me a month start to finish!

socket sets (1/2", 3/8")
breaker bars (or vheater pipes, but HD because i broke my pipe)
sawzall
4" angle grinder
jacks
jackstands
about 12-14 8-12" pieces of wood to go on top of the jack, assuming the jack can go 21".
vice grips
if you have a manual trans, you will need a shifter ext and the torx bit to get it out.
a few extra $$ just in case. (mine was a rare horror story but you should have much trouble)

i hear ya on the sawzall that was one of my key tools lol

my boyfriend and his little brother have installed a 3' BL on a 96 blazer and a 97 expedition. they are in the process of fabricating a lift for my 02 sport... each job took 4 hours... they do a great job so i recommend them

Hey BLZN, email me at rpheezy@yahoo.com so we can talk about this more. I'd like to speak with your boyfriend about helping with an install.
