How long does it take your truck to reach operating temperature ( oil temperature and tranny temperature )?

Of course it will depend on ambient temperature.

I measured mine earlier today.

On a two mile ( each way ) run to the grocery store, my oil temperature reached 118 F and the oil temperature got up to 78 F with the ambient temperature at 65 F.

15-30 Minutes at -45... -_-'' Hate driving my truck when it's that cold, power steering is all stiff, so are the brakes.. Something is going to just snap one of these days..

The gauge with the lil H and C on it.........
And... when I feel warm air come out of the heater.....

Well, what's that lil gauge for?.... o.o

The water temperatures comes up much faster than the oil and the tranny fluid.

Aldive is correct, oil and tranny fluid is a lot more dense than water.

Why dont you ask who has a tranny & oil guage?
Cause if you dont have one this question is just bait.
Happy trolling al.

Thank you for your valuable and informative contribution to this thread.

Happy New Year.

I'm going by engine sound...

RPMs drop to below 1000 after about 1 min, maybe 1.5 minutes... I figure the engine is saying "Ready."
