i recently read about the kit from warn to fix the nut backing off on my dana35 with warn manual hubs and after calling my truck shop and finding 37207 wasn't in the 2000 catalog i called warn. they told me they stoped making the kit because people were forgetting to take the allen screws out and breaking them off. well that really pisses me off both me and my friend have been constantly going thru bearings we've tryed everything but most we could do is get 4 months outa them. i was told of various causes like axle shafts and what not but that didn't hold because his whole front end was completly rebuilt before putting it in his bronco2. i have constanly checked mine also, did find a big difference in going to federal mogal bearing over profit. was wondering what it would take to make this kit myself. i was thinking putting it on torquing it to spec marking where holes are and then drilling to match. but where can i get allen screws? and i heard someone said get the sloted ring from warn will they sell this direct? my truck shop doesn't seem to have common sense. morons keep asking what's that for and you don't need that i'm just like "SHUT UP AND ORDER THE DAMN THING!"

i know this is mostly a explorer board but way my truck and my friends bronco2 are now have more in common with your suv's than those wannabe elcamino's on fordranger.com
plus you guys use UBB and so you have a nice searchable board.

94Splash4x4SC -

Welcome to the board, we have had that same discussion here a few weeks/months back and the conclusion was that you have to take the outer locknuts to a metal shop that can tap and set these allen screws for you. In my area, they want close to $100 to tap and set one nut with three allen screws. You may be able to get a shop in your area that will do it cheaper.

I recall someone said the slotted rings can be purchased from WARN separately.

I know this won't help your problem, but MileMarker now makes manual hubs for the Explorer. Anyone out there that is thinking about changing over to manuals, might want to try these out. You might want to see if Milemarker has some sort of screw locking mechanism on their hubs. It should work on the Warns because this is specific to the Explorer. Just a thought. :)

94Splash,
Welcome, and don't worry about not having an Explorer. I have a Ranger, and they made me a moderator! It's just different sheetmetal. Sorry I can't help with your question.
