Warped Flexplate - shift engine forward or push back transmission

Wow, I was wondering where you are Eddie with the new motor. What an ordeal, now you are married to that Ford :) for a long, long time.
I am not sure if you should or should not mention the name of the supplier; 2 major blunders on one engine. I know they will replace it but your few days of aggravation and work is your time lost.
Sometimes I feel that a used OEM part with low miles is better than remanufactured stuff from 3rd party suppliers.

So is it running now ?

The replacement runs and it runs well. If I had any issues with this motor I was going to buy a used donor.

I have 110 miles on it so far. It's stronger than the first motor they delivered. If I could rate them in terms of customer service I would give them five stars. It's a very free rerving engine and has no vibration. The rear timing chain on the old new engine is very very tight. I removed the tensioner and it does not compress. This could be part of the original problem. The new flexplate was a pos. Should have inspected it further. The ring gear has a large gap at 90 and 180 degree. The better quality replacement is welded well. No gaps. Before I removed the old engine I had a local GM engine rebuilder keep it for a few days. He's opinion was the factory used different bearings that caused it to be out of balance which showed as a horrible vibration at 2'500 rpms.

Eddie -

all still good ?

How many miles on the new-new motor ?

529 thank you. All is good. Minor very random misfire with cyl 2. I don't think it's significant at all.

Redlines just fine. No vibration. Top end was loud for the first 100 miles but has quieted down significantly.

I've changed the oil often. I'm amazed at how much dirt and barely visible fragments are created by a new motor.

I have a engine fan roar when I start up the X when the ambient temp is above 80f. The roar will last until midway through second gear. Coolant is at a great level. Burped. Lots of heat. Scantool will show coolant temp between 189 - 192f. A little stumped by this one too. But! It's working very well. Thank you for asking.

Taking my son to Bass Pro Shop today. That will be a 140 mile round trip. The more the motor breaks in the better it feels. 2nd time was a charm...as you are all to aware of, lol.
