To start off, I did search...

I am probably going to be putting the warrior shackles on my '94 XLT and I was wondering what effect this would have on my tow ratings. Will I still be able to have the max tongue weights as before or does the extra height make it so that your max tongue weight is lessened?

If I wasn't clear enough let me know and I will try to clarify.

Thanks in advance...

Dave

I don't think it'll lessen any towing weights. The Warriors are much beefier than the stockers.. so anything that gets suptracted due to length is made up for in width.

I've towed the piss out of stuff using mine and I've had no problems.

I wasn't worried so much about the shackles themselves, but the leaf springs because of the added height. It changes the dynamics of things back there and I was wondering if someone smarter than I about such things knew if it would change the towing weights and the amount of weight that I could put in the back in general.

Thanks,

Dave

all shackles due is mount the frame further way from the mounting of the leaf springs.... by putting them it will not cuase any adverse effects to your truck

Ok, that is what I was looking for. The tax refund is due in about a month or so and I am getting 31x10.50's and I wanted to make sure that it would not harm my towing capabilities by putting the shackles on if I have to.

Thanks,

Dave
