Warror Products Sway-Bar Disconnects For The Explorer!!!

thanks for your reply Ray. I have a 5.5" superlift, do you think I will have a problem with the disconnects? Should I cancel my order now (they are ordered and paid for already). Any info is appreciated. Thanks again.

Vibes,
Are you getting the fronts, backs, or both?

You don't really need the fronts on your 94, just put hitch pins on the bottom portion of the link, instead of using a bolt.
On the rears, I would say that you will have to have a longer length disconnect than the stock length. At least it was that way on my truck.

Ray I think I understand about the front sways and using a hitch pins. Do you have a picture or some more info. I seem to have a habit of buying the wrong equipment. I talked with 4WH they said try them out and if they don't work then send them back. I don't think they will work with my lift. Thanks for all the info.

Also one more question. I noticed my back left brake cable doesn't seem to have much play in it. If I use the disconnects do you think this will cause a problem. Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks again!

Vibes,
Have you measured your links from eye to eye?
this will tell you how long they have to be. You can get them in longer sizes, just check out their website.

You might have to move theE-brake cable mount on the frame down some in order to accomodate the increased articulation.

Thanks again Ray. I'll check them out tonite. I notice your in Los Banos. When we going to Hollister???

Very soon. I just got my bumper/tire carrier put on and I want to take it out for a test. I'm thinking maybe the weekend after the holiday. Interested in going?:)

Where did you have your spare tire carrier made??? I have a bachelor party I'm throwing that weekend of the 7,8 and 9th of Sept. If things change or you decide to go another weekend let me know. Take care.

do the '97 X's even have a front sway-bar cuz i cannot seem to find it. i can find the rear one real easy cuz it hangs down right behind the rear axle, but i cannot find the front one at all. My X is a 1997 XLT 2WD 4dr.

thanks
guys

Just an FYI for those of you with lift kits, the sway diss. may not fit. I ordered mine and the fronts where to long the rears to short. I have a 5.5" superlift. The guy at warrior said he would make them if we send him the specs. for each lift. Just didn't want everyone to order them and just have to send them back like I did.

Yes, your '97 left the factory with a front and rear sway bar. The front bar is about twice as thick as the rear, but is hollow. The ends are linked to the lower control arm via an 8" bolt, about 2" in front of each front shock absorber. The two bushing mounts are on the front of the front frame crossmember.

Are you still looking for some quick disconnects?
I have a set of adjustable JKS disconnects the I tried using on my truck, but didn't like them for my use. They would probably work better on your pre 95 model than they did on my 97 since I had to add another swivleon them to get them to work. You want to take a look at them?

Hey Ray, if positive vibes doesn't want to take a look at those disconnects, do you think they would work alright on my 97 with stock suspension? If so then i'd like to look at them somehow or something like that! Did you ever say where you had your tire carrier at or have picuters? Thanks

Happy trailes!

Yes, Ray I would love to check them out. I will passing by you on the 21st of this month (heading home to Santa Cruz). After that it would probally have to be t-haven. What do you think??? By the way it's good to hear from you!

Vibes,
They would work on your pre95 alot better than on a 95+ model. I will give you a PM with my number and you can give me a call.

Jot017,
To be honest with you, I don't htink you would want them, since you have a 95+ model. they were a real pain in the a$$ getting them back on, where as on a pre95 it wouldn't be a problem, because they won't twist like they will on the 95+ models.
I got my bumper/tire carrier from Tom Rios "FAKARWEE". As far as I know there are only 3 in exsistance. Paul Bredehoft has one, I have number 2, and there is one more at some 4x4 shop in Orange County. Here's a picture of my truck with the tire carrier/ bumper.

Ray, just wanted to let you know that i think you have the best looking explorer that i have seen. Man, i love that thing. I love your tire carrier too. I acutally ordered the tubing today for the one that i am making. Me and a friend are doing it. It won't be as nice as yours though. Thanks for the info on the front swaybar connects! One more question, did you make it over the rock in that picture? Thanks man!

Happy trailes!

Yes I did.:D

Ray!

Ray I made my own disconnects for the front. I appreciate the offer but I got bored and made my own. I'm gonna start on the backs this weekend. thanks again and hope to hear from you. You are going to Thaven, correct?????????

Hey Vibes,
Glad you got them made.
I don't know if I will be able to make it to Truckhaven this year. I'm saving up my time for Moab.
