Car was stalling when cold and running very rough. Would act MUCH better when warm.

OBD II datalog showed all temp sensors operational and misfire could be seen with IAC attempting to compensate. Seemed to be running lean like a vacuum leak.

After reading through posts here, I decided it was the intake gaskets. I did the 00M12 kit. Found someone was there before me and thought it was an IAC. Nice pretty shiny part in the midst of 300,000 miles of carbon. Cylinder 6 O-ring had a piece missing.

Running smooth now (as far as that is concerned anyway).

Just thought I would post it to help forum searchers with stalling and rough idle issues. This is a 2001 4.0 SportTrac.

Thanks MikeH for the write-up. Mine did not come with instructions.
