I've got a weird reoccurring noise in my stereo. A little background. I've got a Sony ES head unit with no amp. I'm running an ADS 6 channel amp running 80 watts each. Connbected to this is a 10 disc changer. The noise I get is a clicking that sounds like someone double clicking a mouse. You know 'click', click'. The noise is always the same relative volume to what I'm listening to. It happens when I'm listening to CD or radio. And it happens infrequently. Maybe once or twice a day. I've also heard it on a boombox I own. What's with this?

is your power wire and rca cables apart enough from each other, also could be cell phone inteference

Well I know what cell phone interference sound like 'cause when the stereo is loud this is how I know the phone is ringing. So I know it's not that. And the sound would be more constant if the RCA and power cables were too close, wouldn't it?

hmmmm try checking some chassis grounds, could be something like a loose ground somewhere letting loop noise or the component itself release frequency noise.... hard to tell without being there.... would the CB have anything to do with it... not familiar with CB's..
