weird audio setup

Is it possible to take like stereo speakers. That have the wires that connect them in the back. Like the ones to mini stereo systems. I have this sharp system 3 cd thing. With pretty good speakers. 3 ways both having 6 and 1/2 sub in them. I was laying in bed and I remember hooking my system up and I just tapped in the wires tangled the new speakers into those and went on. Now with the wires being the same on those speakers could I. Just connect them in and maybe just set them in the back of the explorer for the hell of it. For runing the wires out of the door and all I don't know just wondering if this laying in bed sleepy idea would work. If anybody else has had this idea or even tried. It would be weird to have theat setup. Maybe something new.

I see where you are coming from, and yes, it should work, although Im not sure how good it would sound. A guy came into work the other day with a sunbird convertible with two huge floor speakers in the back seat. It sounded pretty good to me...
