I just bought my 96 and of course when i test drove it when through the 4by4 and the O/D and what not and everythng lit up. So later in the night I noticed the 4wd and the O/D lights wernt on. I get home shut the lights off and WOW I have the indicators back, turn the lights on and they go out. Has this ever happened to anyone? Everything works liek it should except the indicator lamps O/D, 4wd, and cruise. There is also a aftermarket alarm installed. Could possibly it be a wiring problem od is it in the headlight switch? I dunno where to start on this. Thanks!!!

try the dial to the right of the headlight switch

so everything works fine until you turn on the headlights?

Correct, then the only thing that doesnt work are the indicator lamps for the 4by, cruise, and O/D off lamps. Its odd!

My 'O/D off' light will not work if the headlights are on with my 97 Mounty. The truck does not have a '4X4' or 'low' light because it's an AWD (no 4X4 switch for the transfer case). I pulled the cluster out, but couldn't find anything loose or broken. Just decided to live with it that way...

sounds like something is loose in the headlight switch, prolly not worth the effort to pull the switch as long as your turn and high beam indicators are still working, I don't believe they are on that circuit though. although not having a cruise light would bother me,my dodge and cav don't have a light to let you know when the cruise is active and it is pretty annoying
