Weird noise from drivers side

I'm not sure what's causing it, but sometimes when I'm slow down to a stop or almost a stop, there is a whining sound coming what sounds like under the hood on the drivers side. I'm not entirely sure since I can't produce the sound while in park. I checked the brake fluid, which was still full, and filled up the power steering fluid reservoir. I'm thinking it might be the power steering pump, but I want to see what you guys think before I do anything.

yea could be the power steering pump, check the power steering belt for wear and tension. the belt may need to be tightened or replaced. is it definitely coming from under the hood? check the brake booster line could have a leak causing a whistle.
