My '96 has started making a noise I cannot seem to pin down. At highway speeds there is a really deep rumble almost like I have a flat. Sometimes, it shimmies at speed as well. This has definitely gotten louder over the past two days. Any ideas?
Thanks!
It could definitely be a balance issue (esp if you have put on new tires recently, since it has been getting worse), or also you could need an alignment. How are your tires wearing, and did you bump into any curbs or huge pot holes in the past few days? Id say the first thing you should have done is a simple balance of all 4 tires and an alignment. Good luck.
I am starting simple...
I am having the tires (32"x11.5") rotated and balanced and hoping that solves the problem. It also get worse as the ambient temperature increases (it was 95 today.)
Thanks for the input, I appreciate it.
Is it 4 wheel drive? Check your bearing hub assembly. I had another one go bad. The wheel realy started to ride on the inside, made things really loud. When I replaced the hub, the sound went away
