well check engine light came on and i got 2 codes any ideas?

i got p0171 and p0174 wich is system to lean bank 1 and bank 2 anyone know what this can mean? the truck runs perfect no performance changes at all wouldnt even know if the CEL didnt come on any help would be appriciated

There have been many posts about this. I had the same issue and mine turned out to be a cracked elbow in the PCV line coming back to the intake. It's associated with some sort of vacuum leak, so check all of your vacuum lines first. It could be an intake manifold gasket leak, which would be the most time consuming to fix. Do the simple vacuum line checks first, then if those all look good, it's probably the gasket.

ya i just read a bunch of threads and good god sounds like it could be liek 10 different things i dont think its the fule filter as i changed it less thatn 10k miles ago new plugs and wires so i am gonna check vacum lines first dreading the intake gaskets i can do it just dont wanna lol

well i just went and checked for vacum leaks and i couldnt find any doenst mean there not there but i looked at the pcv elbow looks brand new but it has no clamps or anything on ether end is it suppose too? i pulled it while running and of course then i could hear a leak lol but i cleared the codes and drove it a bit nothing yet but the ecu hasnt finished all of its tests but it runs perfect so i am gonna wait and see if it comes back if it does i willl do the cheap simple things first and see if its stops i could be crazy but somehow i think it might of just been a fluke just seems odd to me for it to throw the codes with no change to the performance at ALL

ok i dont know if this has anything to do with it but it just seemed to weird so i had to show you guys as i was inspecting the pcv line i dropped it under my truck and when i went down to pick it up i found this i have no idea if it came off my truck but i had to take a pic of it just incase does this look like a vacum plug for soemthing on my truck lol its a long shot but thats what i thought it was when i looked at it ... http://img201.imageshack.us/img201/4372/img0671wi7.jpg
