Well I tried to clean my engine this morning...

It went fine. No problems starting it up. I followed the advise of all the searches I did. The engine compartment is cleaner, but it is still dirty. I used Simple Green, & Greased Lightning, & my spray hose. I still have alot of gook on the vavle covers, & under the steering box. I guess I need something stronger to get it. Or maybe a steam clean?

I would try letting those chemicals soak on the engine for a little while, then powerwash it, the coin carwash works great.

I would agree with letting those chemicals set a little longer and get a brush and get in there and scrub. I would not however use a power washer on my engine. The same results can be acheived with your sprayer and a little elbow grease.

Buy a couple liters of Coke, that should do the trick.

Also works better than baking soda for cleaning off battery acid.
