Well the X is down for the count...

Here are all the known problems with the 5R55W transmissions to my knowledge:

  • Servo bores need to be updated to correct 2-3 and 4-5 shift flares by installed a copper bushing into the servo bore
  • A new solenoid pack needs to be installed to correct delayed reverse engagement
  • Also needs a new valve in pump to correct intermittant neutral condition when coming to a stop

Once these issues are corrected with a complete rebuild, your new transmission should be bullet proof with these updates.
 






I am going to have to get a rebuild soon. I thought about just selling it to Carmax or something but I think I will end up biting the bullet and getting a rebuild. Hopefully nothing else major will go for a long time.

I was going to get myself a set of wheels with some of the money from selling my vette...but this ran a bit higher than i was quoted..errr!!!:mad:

i was told 1500-1800...and it was 2400!!! :mad:
