Well, today I finally had everything gathered up and so Matt Adams, another friend named Darren and myself put everything in...

head unit is an Alpine 7995, that so far I like, The door speakers were already in, JL Audio all around, JBL P80.4 for the highs, 1200.1 for the sub and an Audiobahn AW1206Q for subwoffer... Well, we get it all hooked up, check the connections and everything...

Turn the deck on and I hear poping... Then smell something funny... Darren checks the amps, the 1200.1 blew all three of its 40 amp fuses... RECHEKED the wireing and what not, got new fuses, turned off all the power, tried to put new fuses in and they started to arc... So I guess I have a bad amp... I'm really :frustrate::fire::eek::rolleyes: about it too... So now I have to contact JBL and or etronics.com about getting it repaired/replaced!!! The 80.4 works great though and everything else sounds great... I just REALLY want a sub...

that sucks man.. hope everything works out. I love my 7995. works great. good luck

Sorry to hear that. My friend just got him 1200.1 He blew a fuse the first time he played, but I don't think he is having any more problems.

him = his ....

I don't want to sound like a hick from Indiana =P....

at least you just had the fuses blow.....it seems JBL has a lot of problem with the 1200.1 and that is why thezeb.com doesn't sell JBL equipment anymore because they were having so many returns. i bought mine from them and not a few weeks after i was playing some music adjusting my amp levels and it popped.....although im positive it wasnt the amps fault im sure it had something to do with it.....

internal amp in the head unit blew after smoking for about 3 minutes........the amp got toasted also after smoking for a while.........and not 1, but both voice coils ripped to shreds.....thezeb.com was cool about it and they got my warranty stuff taken care of, and the place i bought my sub from was also pretty cool about replacing it even though they werent an authorized rockford fosgate dealer he was kind enough to just write that sub off and get me a new one

Oh the joys of car audio.:rolleyes: That sucks man, but I know what that's like. And some people wonder why car audio equipment has fuses!?!:confused:

Let me know how etronics treats you, I want to order from them because they have great prices and will give me a final price (incl all taxes, duty etc) in can dollars but hadn't heard anything about them as a seller.

That sucks Heath. But atleast your pretty much done right? Thats one reason why I dont like buying off the internet. I hate doing returns and such with internet companys. Anyway Hope you get it all taken care of and where are the pics at? I finally started putting my system in so it shouldn't be long till I aml booming again.
