What a way to start my summer!! (Crazy story inside) I found my next truck...

So one of my friends calls me up tonight (my first full night back at home) and tells me he just bought a 98 Dakota R/T! I tell him "I want a ride dude" and he goes "Hell, come out to my place I'll let ya take it for a few hours!!" .......... Oh my f***in god!!!!

So I show up at his place, truck is already running. He had headers, a cat back exhaust, cold air intake, and chip already done to it! So I took it out for a drive, and for a truck they can pull like hell!!! I had way too much fun.

Now comes the really messed up part. We've been having bad weather here in the midwest, and so I'm at my house taking my brother for a ride, and what happens? It starts hailing!!!! Like big 'ol huge chunks that were breaking apart on the street as I drove!!! So I pull a fishtail out of my subdivision and tore 70 down the road for like 3 or 4 miles to the nearest gas station, and meanwhile the hail is hitting the windshield and sounding like it should be cracking the damn thing. Scariest, and frickin' most fun night I've had in a long time!!!!

I want an R/T now......

They're insanely fast!! I had a '98 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.9Limited and let me tell ya, that thing scoots!!! When I got my Explorer, I felt like I'm driving a freakin Chevy Metro or something. No power at all!!

yes, the 360 is a good motor.

I had a 2000 R/T last summer and it was really bad ass, it was totally stock and it was in factory perfect conditon. I took it to the track and ran a 15.60 and a 15.64. It would lay down some rubber too, having that 360 at my disposal is what got me in trouble and I had to sell it after only having it for 2 weeks, but it was a blast while I had it.

Plus the Dakotas probably don't weigh even close to the ammount that the GC's do. My buddy has a 3.9 dakota, and that hauls a**! I was in my dad's supercharged grand prix and he, in his Datkota, kept up even when I got pretty heavy on the gas. I give props to Dodge on those dakota's.

My 5.9 Limited is a beast. I have the exhaust done and a high flow cat. You'd love that truck.

Standard cab R/T's will run about 15.40, Crew Cabs will run 15.50 on up. There are some that run a little faster and some that run signifigantly slower, like in the 15.80 range stock. The 360 is very receptive to mods and is very strong, I loved mine while I had it and it sounded totally bad ass too...a definate plus.
