Ok, my free subs and amps (2 x 80 watt Alpine 2channel and 2 x MTX Terminator 10") Arent cutting it. I considered getting a new amp to drive the subs, but everyone reccomended that I get all new stuff. Well I think I'm going to get 2 10" Pioneer 500 Watt Subs from circuit city. What is a good amp to drive these with? Also, my HU (DEH-4600MP) Only has rear and front outputs. How would I go about connecting my sub to it?
All help is appreciated. THanks,
Geoff

i would recomend a 400 watt RMS 2ohm subwoofer amp.
i have no idea what the RMS rating on those subs are, cant imagine they are over 200watts each for 50 bux.

Those are 120 watts RMS... With single 4 ohm VCs each, wire them in parallel for a 2 ohm load on the amp... Get an amp with 150 - 240 watts RMS x 1 channel at 2 ohms, or 70 - 120 watts RMS x 2 channels at 4 ohms each, and you should be set. If the Alpine you have now runs 80 watts x 2 channels at 4 ohms per channel, that would be just fine for these subs. Of course, you could always upgrade to an amp with more potential in case you upgrade your subs later on.

As for connecting the subs to your HU, you'll need to get a line-level converter that will turn the high-level speaker outputs from your HU into RCA outputs for a sub. That is usually hooked up to the signal wires for the rear speakers. These converters are pretty cheap.

B94Sport, my Alpines are 2 x 40 or 1 x 80, so I doubt they are strong enough. Anyone hear of Bazooka? The guy at circuit city was trying to sell me them.
