What are the Driveline Power Losses for Auto and Manual Trans?

I am just curious how much power is lost in the driveline in a Standard, and an Automatic Transmission.

I think Auto is about 25% Loss


Seeing if converting in future to MT would make big diff...

actually, there is no exact measurement. everyones trannies/rear ends are different. a good rule of thumb is:

2wd half ton or car-
manual-15% loss
auto-20% loss

add 2-3% to either for 4WD or AWD. (even if its not in 4WD).
