A friend of mine x has a gas line leak goin to the fuel rail the braided fuel line by the power steering pump. it had a hole and leaked pretty bad. might not be your case but my .02 cents
I had a horrible gas smell for about a year it was wayy worse in the winter.
I tore it down to the injectors, also cleaned them and put new o rings on. No more gas smell.
Just look around the fuel rail, it will be wet if they are leaking that bad
In addition to fuel line/system leaks, the EVAP system can cause gas odors when the CANP solenoid gets stuck closed or some other kink/clog in the tubing prevents the charcoal canister from being purged.
