What Data is available through OBDII ?

In short: Is there a list anywhere of which data is available through the OBD II port of the Sport Trac?


In long:
I have an app and a bluetooth obd reader- but some items that the app can read, can't be read through our OBD II port. The only way to test it though, is to add a gauge, or readout on the Torque app's main screen, and fire up the truck to see if it is read. Since I'd like to set up the app's dashboard away from the truck, or at least tweak it, is there a way to know which items can be read through the port?

it depends on the software. all data can be read through the odb2 port,

some scanners like snap on even do a custom data readings.

There's a plugin for torque called TorqueScan. it is helpful for finding out what info the OBD system will provide, since every make and model can be different. I used to have a 1st gen trac but never tried Torque on it to see what works and doesnt, but try TorqueScan.

I set a gauge to show Transmission Temperature, and it wouldn't read - You're saying that the OBDII port definitely would provide the information on a high dollar scanner, and it's not just that it can't be read through our OBDII?

Thanks, I'll check that out after work! That's kinda what I thought - different makes/models output slightly different (while much of the same) data.

yes my 10k ids will read trans temp, my 5k snap on scanner will read trans temp. yes a 1-300 dollar scanner it will be limited.

Will one of the members on here has the same app on his 3rd gen and it reads trans temp and all sorts of things but he pays the most attention to the trans temp on the trails. Its like Willsex04 or something like that is his screen name if you want to ask him about it.

Add the Ford predefined PID's from the options if you haven't done that already. once you add those the Trans temp PID is available to be calculated from the OBD2 output.

I have a Scan Gauge cost under $100. Will read HP, Torque, Trans Oil temp and lots more and will scan codes. Ford EEC runs all the tests any of the readers just do that read what they are told.
