I am hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I am in the market for new plug wires. I am going to go with the new platnum +4 and i am probably going to get Accel wires because the splitfires are expensive. my question is what diameter wires should I get? 8.8 or 8.0?

thanks
Randy

Randy,
My understanding about current is simple... The heavier the gauge of the wire, the better the transfer of current. Without knowing if the extra thickness would make a differnce I would go with the heavier wires... 1) they should last abit longer and 2) better safe than sorry! Dead Link Removed
Hope this helps...

What's much more important than the diameter of the insulation is the amount of resistance, along with noise suppression. Copper wires have the lowest resistance, but you won't be able to listen to your radio. Jacobs wires have the best compromise between minimal resistance and adequate noise suppression, that I've found. If you live in Saratoga, you can buy 'em at Speed Merchant in Santa Clara.
