What do y'all want?

^ so 2 for coilovers! And that's why I was thinking of the diff skid plate. It applies to explorers, rangers, and any rig that's swapped in a 8.8
Should be fairly easy to make as well, not to much time to invest in making it.
What would you guys consider a fair price for the coil over conversion if it doesn't include shocks? Just the brackets

That's a good point about the welding, just personally that'd steer me away from it. Welding effects the properties of the metal, of course the frame is welded on at the factory but I'd like to avoid it. If enough people don't care though, then weld it will be.

Problem with making stuff for Heeps is that there is already tons of people wanting it (This is commenting on what 2TimingTom said).
I'm really not sure if taking a big loan out and trying to start a business like this is the safest way to go. I know that's already been said, and I don't want to destroy your entrepreneurship dreams, but I agree with the guys suggesting just saving up for your own welder and other small equipment and making some simpler parts. There are tons of people out here who don't have welders, like myself. If you document your design process and it's strong and well made, you can make and sell some of the less complex parts to us. And making something that can go on either a Ranger or an Explorer would probably be really good. You can advertise your items on The Ranger Station and other Ranger forums too and make more sales.

I agree. Start by makes stuff that doesn't need expensive equipment and by showing quality workmanship. Stuff like shackles, skid plates, maybe work your self up to making bumpers and sliders or brackets for coilovers etc... Come up with a unique design and people would want yours over other designs. That would just require a welder and a plasma or some kind of cutting torch. Start small, work smart and make quality stuff and i'm sure you will do great.

A company, small or big, isn't started over night. Start off with what you can do in spare time and if you manage to get enough orders to keep busy/make enough profit then you can consider quitting a day job.

I'd buy some coilover brackets from you as long as you were making some like Corkey's and you can lay a good bead. It'd save me from having to make some myself. It's hard to cut all those pieces by hand right, and it is expensive just to have a couple pieces cut. If you want to sell them, then you could do a batch at a time, and keep costs down.

You might also look into making drop brackets for 1st gen beams, or even ones with the mount offset for people to install F-150 beams. Have a look on dezertrangers.com. You can find some information about what I'm talking about if you search enough. Someone used to make them some time back too, so, while you won't be able to copy their design, you should be able to get a better idea of what I am talking about. There are probably a few first gen guys who would be interested in buying them.

I'll get back to you if I can think of any other good things that no one makes, or no one makes anymore. Though, to be fair, there is a reason people stopped making them. There weren't enough people buying them to make it worth their time.

As to a price, you need to figure out how many you want to make, how much it would cost to get the steel cut, and what your time is worth for putting the bend in and welding on the mounting tab.

I'm trying to get an idea of what people would pay so I know if it'd be worth making. Steel isn't cheap :( I do have a friend whose dad is an engineer at the local steel plant though. So that will definitely help, well maybe. His dad isn't a fan of my different religious belief (not sure why he needs to know anyways....)
I've got a couple ideas floating around in my head for the coil overs, like I said I'm trying to eliminate welding. And 1 idea, wouldn't require welding on my part or yours and should be stronger than anything else

If you could could machine an aerodynamic 20ft sign that says "PUT YOUR G.D. PHONE DOWN AND DRIVE!", you'll have my business.
