What does sohc or whatever mean

I have a 93 explorer xlt 4.0 v6. I was wondering why when I bought a haynes guide to the 91-94 explorer, najavo that it did not include 1 picture of my engine setup.

You mean OHV?
Just plain ol' Over Head Valve...

Ahh... You edited your post.
SOHC means Single Over Head Cam. If you have a '93 4.0L, then you have the OHV engine.
