So I have several threads about my dieing Explorer and the code that it throws is OD clutch failure. Does this have something to do with the intermediate band? If that is so, how long do you think I could drive this thing before I can no longer go forward?
Thanks! The reason I ask is I need this thing to last at least 4 months so I can then afford to purchase a new vehicle and have some cash to put down on it. The back story on this thing is the tranny has been rebuilt twice for having the intermediate band break, and no one will give me a quote on rebuilding it. But to get a new(used) tranny with decent miles on it will cost about $750, plus what ever it is to install it, and its already got 189k on it already, so I am looking for a new vehicle after 6 years with my Explorer.
