I installed an aftermarket unit about a month ago. Everything has been fine...until tonight. I started the truck up and noticed I was only getting sound from one speaker. Then I realized I lost all my settings on the unit. It was dim, the treble and bass wasn't the same, and my preset radio stations were back to the factory presets. Also seems that my antenna wasn't working because it wouldn't find any stations. What could be the issue? My main worry is that I'm only getting sound from rear passenger door speaker. Could I possibly disconnect the battery to reset everything? Any info would be great!

Sounds like the connections at the back of the radio became loose.
Seems like the 12V+ Constant power wire was disconnected from it all night, causing it to reset. And the speaker harness is loose.
Check behind the radio for loose connections before jumping to conclusions. :)

Lol. I would love for it to be some sort of loose connections. Someone had told me it could be a bad head unit. But its getting power and functioning as usual, after I had to readjust all the settings again. I will pull it and check all connections. Thanks!!

I highly doubt the head unit is bad. There's no reason for the headunit amp to only send power to 1 of the 4 channels unless the connections are loose.
And no problem. Good luck, tell me how it goes.

So I pulled the unit and checked all connections. Everything was good. I have two separate fuses behind the unit. One is in a box and the other is a inline. I pulled the boxed fuse, it was good. Put it back in and checked unit. I had all speakers playing except for driver door. I checked inline fuse, it was good...checked unit again, and still no sound from driver door speaker. So after all of this, I have 3 speakers playing now, and no driver door audio. If it weren't for bad luck I wouldn't have any. Any help on driver door speaker?? Everything was perfectly fine until lastnight.

Did you put the head unit in yourself?
I don't want to criticize the work done, but I still feel like a connection in the back is bad.
It's odd that 2 more speakers work now, after you checked the connections.
Were the harnesses soldered together, or butt connected?
Sounds like those connections are bad.

Indeed. I did the install myself. I consider myself pretty smart about wiring units, until now lol. I've installed MANY units with no problem, except for a very old Honda accord that had to be hard-wired. PITA!!!!! I can totally understand where your concern is with the wiring. It would definitely make sense. The harnesses were butted together. Next day I find time I will pull the unit again and rewire the thing all over just so I KNOW that I've covered the wiring part. I highly appreciate your input on this topic!!

Not criticizing your work in any way, it happens to the best of us..

In fact.. I remember installing a long console in the truck.. tested it before putting it in, and it worked great. I put the whole thing in, go to test it.. it doesn't work.
Turns out.. my connection behind the dash broke and I had to take everything apart to fix it.
What a major pain in the ....

Good luck with finding the problem.

Well, tonight that door speaker decided to play. All the wiring was checked a couple days ago and everything was good. So I figured maybe it was just a bad speaker. Tonight I decided to crank the volume a bit because a song I liked came on...Guess what? Somehow that door speaker has started playing again. Weird!

Good to hear that it's working.
Sounds like it found it's connection somewhere.
If it stops working again, you'll need to narrow it down to where it's losing connection.
