1997 eddie bauer
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have a 1997 Ford explorer eddie bauer. I have had many problems trying to find the correct harness for my system. I have the stock amplifier in the car but right now i am using a bypass harness so the amplifier is avoided. In that case, there is no power going through the door speakers. And also the radio stations sound way worse then it used too with the stock systems. I want a harness that will use the stock amp or atleast sound better than the stock system. I was also looking at the ROEM-FRD2 adapter but im not sure if this will work. Please comment with any suggestions? it is a funky system so please help me. thank you for your help.

Eddie Bauer sound system

Hello There,
I will be doing the same thing with my system in a few months.
I know the correct adapter is The Metra 70-5601.This plug will
allow you to install an aftermarket head unit and still use your
JBL amp. I have learned on this site that the JBL amp is 35
watts per channel. You can find this plug on Parts-Express.com
They also have it on Amazon.com, You can type in your car info
on there and it will confirm the fit. The prices on Amazon are
cheaper however you should watch the shipping cost. There is
A guy on here named "COBRAGUY " and he seems to have done
a few of these with good results. Just do a search on here for "jbl"
I am sure it will take you to the discussion.
TIM
