I'm really into great sounding systems, and the stock JBL in my 95 Limited is great, but I want to change it so it has very deep bass and enough output for "bumpin" So it can be heard coming down the highway, because I love the sound and feel when you have a system like that, but I dont know what all you need to get to have such a good setup. Any ideas?

Not sure what kind of bumping you want. If you want a deep bass you need to get an amp and at least 1 sub. You can fit most in the back where the factory sub goes without much work. Will you be doing the work yourself? Also if you replace the changer if you have one i would be willing to take it off your hands.

I am selling my 2 12's in a ported box with 4 channel Pyramid amp for $350. That will give you some nice bass for a cheap price. :D

Yeah, I want alot of deep bass that'll rattle the mirrors. Are jensen cd players any good? I havent ever listened to any of them. I want some MTX speakers cuz I've listened to them and they sound good. So can somebody give me a list of all the things I will need to get some bumpin' action? And how can you convert from the factory 6 disc to a 10 disc on the dash? Or can you just leave the factory one in there and get a dash mount or.....AAHHH!!!I dont know all this stuff very good, I just listen to it :)

95 calm down it will be worth it in the end.
MTX is good I had 2 12's in my Bronco II and they were very very nice. It just depends on where you want the stuff to go and how crazy you want to be with it. All you really need is a good sub and a high power amp. If you want to keep the look stock (so it wont get stolen as easy). You will be able to fit a new sub where the factory one goes. A good place to put the amp is under the back seat. That easy set up will give you good bumping. Now if you want to go all the way. Which it sounds like you do you will probably want a new head unit. It sounds like you want to take out the 6disk and put in a 10 (I am still interested in the old one). Now some 10 changers have a wire adapter that you can use so you can still use the radio controls on the factory head. If you get a new head than make sure you get one that can control the changer. Some things you might want to consider are replacing the factory door speakers. Talk to the local car audio guys for some other ideas.

There's a difference between a "great" sounding system and a booming system. That's why they have two competitions at car audio sound offs, the DB drab (bass competition) and the SQ competition (sound quality). That's because if you have so much bass, you're going to drown out everything else! :)

If you want to go inexpensive, and get a lot of bass that'll blind your vision, you're going to look at bandpass enclosures. These can be obtained for a relatively low price. Don't worry too much about the kind of sub you get in there, because the sound quality doesn't matter so much, as the box does most of the work manipulating the sound. If you buy a super expensive sub and put it in a bandpass, you're sort of wasting your money. Just get some that can handle a lot of power and have a lot of excursion (can move a lot). One pair will rattle your car, and you can hear it for a block or so. Two sets, and you're deaf and your heads getting knocked around! You're also going to need an amp. The more power the better, you're looking at the RMS or continuous wattage, NOT the peak power!

If your looking for good sound at a pretty good price. This is what I would do. I would get a nice cd player for around 300 dallors. (start with a good CD player to get a good fondation.) Then probably a Rockford Fosgate 800a4 (power series if possible) Then 1 Hx2 12 and a fanatic Q 5.25 compent set and run the compents and the sub off the amp and don't use ANY stock equiptment, to get a good result. E-mail me to see If I can find you any good deals.

I know I sound like a walking advertisement for these guys but check out http://www.tms-electronics.com Everything is dirt cheap. I was at a stereo shop today and I listened to Memphis subs. Those things are amazing. They had some amps there too and I was suprized by those too. The best part is they're really cheap and they sound great. TMS has Memphis amps but no speakers. If you swap out your stock 6x8s for some coaxes it will sound even better. I though the stereo in my dads Taurus was great, then I pulled the speakers the other day, what pieces of junk!!!

sound system mods

the first mod should be the speakers, the factory stuff is junk,(I went with the 3-way pioneers),that did not break the bank, next I added better quality amps, front and back,(went with alpine),then added a changer(went with kenwood),and a sub,all I needed was an 8" J-L sub in a Q-logic box, that fits in the cargo wall, with another alpine amp,I also wanted to control the sub (bass) from the drivers seat,so I installed a Planet Audio crossover with a remote sub control,(mounted up in the console),then changed out the factory head for a kenwood head with removable face, and had a shelf put in under the new head unit, looks and sounds great. I found that with a sub,I wanted to change, the level of the diff. tracks that were played.
but the speakers will make the most improvement overall,at least I think they will !!!
