Adjustable valving shocks, tires with a big sidewall.

Coil overs are a great upgrade but are a big job (as far as shocks go), and large can shocks that hold a lot of oil, or shocks with reservoir cans. A lot of guys run the Rancho 9000XL series, the bigger Bilstiens, Fox shocks, Kings, or even duel shocks.

2nd gens with torsion bars....Keeping your control arms flat across with nominal lift or drop will give the best ride.

Fresh rear leaf packs with a good arch from eye to eye makes a world of difference.

Yeah I checked out the Rancho 9000XK series setup and its adjustable aswell.. I was thinking that was the best all around setup... Whats the best place to order this that you recommend? I called Pepboys and they can order it, but I imagine I can find a better deal online..

Thanks guys!

Yeah, google them and shop around for the best price. I had the whole Wireless MyRide setup on my '03 Sport Trac until I decided to change them for longer shocks since my ST is lifted. I still have the rears and the MyRide Wireless setup and was thinking about selling everything for $250 shipped, the shocks are alittle dirty and have some surface rust from being on for a year (8k miles) but they worked awesome for every posible driving style I was doing. I towed my show truck and my trailer a couple times and the ass didn't squat once with the weight and when I drove it on the trails it was nice and soft. I could check the parts #'s to see if the shocks will fit your Ex, I don't see why they shouldn't though.

i have Fox coilovers up front, they are like riding on a cloud,,

Really Corkey? Hmm! Well I've done somemore research and Ive heard that Bilstien makes a way better suspension vs. the Rancho 9000xk.. Whats your opinion? Also Mignightrebel if you could do that and see if your suspension would fit a 97 Mercury Mountaineer AWD I would appreciate it! Will it be the complete kit for the front and the rear you are selling?

Do you mean the SX?

Rancho XL is a better set up than the SX. XL is adjustable, with 9 settings on a dial mounted on the shock itself, or a in cab my ride compressor set up.

Biltsein 5100 series is a nice shock also. I dont think you will dislike either set up compared to what you have been using. Night/day diff in performance either way :)

Where would you guys recommend picking up the complete set for the front and rear? Either Bilstien or Rancho? A link would be great if possible!

I have the rear shocks only and the MYRide Wireless Remote System, the front over extended and stripped the threads off the shafts so their no good. I just checked the compatability with yours and their the same part #'s.

Yeah bro Im def gonna want a complete set, but thanks so much for all you have done!

No problem. I think you'll defintely be really pleased with them. I'd still run them if I didn't kill the front shocks offroading. if no one buys them I'll put the manual valves back on them and put them on my trailer I built from the back half of a truck and probably sell the MyRide Wireless Remote System for $150.

Good luck man! Anyone got a link to where I can purchase the complete Bilstien or Rancho setups?

Dead Link Removed for Rancho. I think they sell Bilstien too.
