Well first you have to isolate where they're coming from. After that, you can figure out exactly what it is. most of the time its like a spring under a seat or or your rear window. Mine is a bit loose. But if its not you can usually get a spray foam that hardens after it is sprayed. That'll quiet most rattles up.

try putting some dynomat around your speaker openings thats what i did and it seemed to help also look around the area where you hear the noise and try to fix it loose panel broken clip etc. also check your head unit if it is an after market like mine it did not fit well on the din slide it just needed to be shimmed up also where is your sub mounted if in the factory spot you really need some dynomat in there

My rear window rattles a lot, how would one go about tightning it? I looked at the hindges, and I don't see how you would.

As far as the other rattles, I got some packing stuff (kinda like a thin foam than you use in mailing peices together with). Anyway it is a foam type thing, I've seen it in like Wal-Mart and such. It is white, and didn't cost too much. I got some of that from a couple of packages at work, and stuffed it in some creveces in the rear hatch (expecialy above the window behind the panel), and it stopped a lot of the rattles.

The foam stuff works well too. Haven't tried they dynomat, but I will as soon as I see some.

Good Luck,
Chris

heyo,
i have 2 Cadence Ultrashock 15's w/ a Cadence Z1200 amp (375x2rms right now) and a JVC kameleon head unit....i have ALOT of rattles in my rear hatch...at the front i'm hittin 140.0 dBs exactly (i'm a MECA competitor) so you can imagine the pressure that's on that rear hatch, and wednesday, it's about 2 get louder w/ a new box.... but is there any advice on anything for the inside rear hatch??

ya when my bass is hittin hard my rear windshield wiper rattles so much you can hear from the next lane. anyone know how to stop it?

LOL, that one will stop those rattles anyday! But wait... when my bass is at negative 25, and the raido is at 1 I still could hear those rattles :( . Just kidding... hope I didn't hurt anyone's feelings. I can say anything actually, because I like the music loud, and my bass rattles my hatch all the time.

Chris :D

Hey everyone.
As for the rattles...The best I've gotten was I took the plastic interior panel off the rear hatch and layed down a laywe or dynomat...Then a layer of carboard. It still rattles a bit at the window, but then again I got two Rockford Fosgate 12in Punch Power DVC's run by an Alpine amp at 900x1 constant and 1500x1 watts max. So I hope this has helped.

Nate you might want to have some Chics get in the back and have them press against the panel. Ooops nevermind no chci would be stupid enough to get in the back of your explorer :)
