Hi guys.

What is the best suspension kit (not custom fabrication) for a 4X4 Explorer that is to be used in a similar way as a pre-runner truck? (desert - wash board roads).

Why?

Mando, check with Fabtech.com, they have some great kits for pre-runner trucks. Hope this helps.

Mando,
i have the Fabtech lift on my truck. I have the stance of a 4x4. Not the full prerunner style were your front bumber is looking in to the sky. You can just use one of the regular suspension lifts for the 4x4. All you need is soft suspension. If anything look into getting new i beams in the front. That will give you alot of travel for the money. Email donohue racing. There very resourceful. They helped me out before and i was debating between them and fabtech.
I'm working on my truck to make it a full prerunner, just have to wait on the $$$$$. Till then....lol Dead Link Removed if you have any questions email me...I'm hoping to have pics of my truck tomorrow too.

Thanks guys.

My truck is a 4X4 and is used as a daily driver (very bad mexican roads) and also for (not so high speed) desert and wash board roads. What I would like to know is which of the std mail order kits is better suited for that use.

Rancho? James Duff? Superlift? Any other?
May be only a good set of shocks and some armoring? (my truck is already 1" lifted and running on 31" BFGs)

Your best bet may be lower air pressure in the tires, Rancho RS9000's and removed swaybars. If you plan on doing any wheeling then you have to ***** what kind you do and then go as big as you can there. I recomend Superlift myself as its the only thing I have run.
