what does it do? how much is it? and all that good stuff

the reason im asking is because im thinking of buying a motor that dosn't have one, its a 97 explorer motor 4.0

About $60 bucks

Engine won't idle (or just barely) without it. There has got to be a story here. Don't see why you would buy a car if you can't hear how it rund first. IAC is no reason to sideline a car and not fix it.

its just a motor, only has about 20k on it

there are no injectors, ignition coil or idle speed motor

Is it a OHV or SOHC. If SOHC, I wonder if you would want it considering all the trouble w/the O-rings, cam tensioners and timing chains
