- 2016 Ford Explorer Limite
Hello, everyone -
I've been having this problem for the last few weeks with my 2010 Explorer. It almost sounds like a jet engine at times. I did have the A/C recharged at Ford about 3 weeks ago, and this noise started right after that.....but I still don't know for sure if it's related. It's at its worst in hot weather, maybe 90 degrees or hotter. It happens when I accelerate right after start up & the engine is already warm (for example, if I run into the grocery store). It happens for about a minute then goes back to normal. The RPM's are a little high when this is happening as well. In this video, it's really noticeable around the 23-second mark. At about the 45-second mark, it has gone away. I had to trim out the first 15 seconds of this video which all it was was me backing out of my driveway.

I have it at Ford, and I'm getting the usual "we can't get it to reproduce the noise" jargon. I even let them listen to the video this morning and the lady that checked the vehicle in definitely noticed it then......and I can get it to reproduce the noise any time the weather is hot. Anyway, that's a whole different issue. Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!
