Yesterday when i pulled into my driveway there was a sudden front end squeek/creek, i pulled into my usuall parking spot and straightened the wheels, and as i did so it too would squeek/creek. So i kept turning the wheels back and forth but it still persisted to make noise. So i got out and started to push on the front end and as i did so it made the noise.

It is a 99 explorer XLT 4x4.

My bud thinks it could be bad ball joints, but he is not too shure, he also thinks it could be somthing to do with my torsion bar or shock.

Any ideas and an estimate on how much it would cost to get fixed?

Thanks!

i would think ball joint. jack it up and grab to top and bottom of the tire and see if there is a lot of play. if there is you have a bad ball joint. that or it may be possible that you have a bad tie rod end.

how much does it cost to replace a tie rod end?
