Lifts

98-00 Ranger 3" body lift kit #883-$130
Warrior Shackles(1.5")-$50
Front torsion twist(1.5")-free
or
98-00 Trailsmaster 4" suspension lift-$1400

You are going to need at least 4" of lift to get those 33's in there and you will still have to trim the rear of the front wheel well. The widest tread you can run is 10" and a rim with a backspacing of 3.25".

I just finished this setup on a '98 Sport. We had to trim a little, but other than that it was fine. It had a total of 4.5" of lift. We used the body lift and the shackle/torsion set up.

We also did a 90-94 2" body lift on a 99 and that also went well. A 2" lift is MUCH easier. If you decide to get a 2" then you will need to order the 98-00 bumper brackets.

I thought 31-10.5-15s fit on an Explorer as long as it has a minor lift, like the TT and Shackles? Or do they rub also?

He said 33's not 31's, but yes.....31's will fit fine with what you said.

I thought you said the widest tread is 10", but the 31's have 10.5"? But, as long as they fit, that's good with me. :)

10.5 is the section width. The tread width is going to be about 8-8.5" on a 31x10.5

I swear, I learn something new everyday at this forum. Thanks for the clear-up.

rubbing son...is racing

Well, not to confuse the issue, but I have a 98 Explorer Sport with the TT + Warrior lift, and just got 31" Bf Goodrich AT/KOs Friday....and they rub when I turn the wheel more than 70%. For the immediate future, I'm just trying to turn very little, but I will be trying out the 3" PA Body lift for clearance very soon. And new shocks.

i'm running 31.50-10.5-15's now >

with no rubbing at all . no lift , stock suspension . geuss i'm lucky

31's on stock rims might rub at full lock.

you lucky ba#@ard....

The spacers will cure my slight problem?

Oh yeah

Sorry, but I forgot to mention that I'm rollin on American Racing Nitros. Does that make a difference?

The make of the rim won't make a difference. One of the guys in our club is running my old 31X10.5R15 BFG MT's and he had mentioned some rubbing when the front flexed. From what I've seen 31's will be fine on stock rims, but there is a chance of some rubbing on the sway bar at full lock.

I doubt you'll find a 1 inch spacer.
