'94 XLT
I just inherited a 94' XLT that has no records on anything. It's got a lift with 31 X10.50's. Is there anyway I can figure out how much of a lift is on it? I've crawled around underneath and can't find any indication of even a brand!

Take pictures of the suspension..

specifically, the coils and the mounting points for the axle beams and the radius arm. Also, get some pictures of the rear springs and the rear spring shackles.

If they are really grimy, clean them off a little so we can see colors etc..

We may be able to figure it out just by looking at it.

Also, some shots of the truck from the front and side may help us get an idea of what it is based on the tire size you are running.

Here's a couple, they aren't very specific though. I'll try and get more up soon, it's currently jacked to do the front brakes.

Yup..it's lifted...

You're probably gonna have to get pics with the front tires off. Of the coil springs and brackets on the front axle. Also of the rear leaf springs. Where they mount to the frame and the axle. And also maybe of where the body is mounted to the frame. Doesn't look like a body lift but you never know..

Alright here's some more, I don't know why some of them are smaller than the rest but I think if you click on them they will enlarge. I'm a newb so let me know if these were helpful at all.

It looks like it might match these..

Do these look like them?

Also, did you grab a pic of the spring shackle?

The front looks like a 5.5" lift.. but those rear springs look like they have an add-a-leaf on it, which is only 2" of lift.

EDIT: I just saw the shackle pic at the beginning of the post (small pic). Thats the factory shackle, so the only lift in the rear is the Add-a-leaf so far.

Looks like a 5.5" lift. Don't know who's brackets they are. Can you take a pic of the drop bracket on the other axle half? Like the drivers side?

AAL in the rear + 4" lift springs maybe?

I'm sure someone will recognize the brackets and post up...

just an idea but you might want to black out the tag on the pics, protect your identity

do you block your plate out on the highway just in case the 8,000,000 people you drive by everyday use it to steal your identity? Not much more of a chance of that happening on here...

It's a 4" Tuff Country kit.

Yeah there is. The internet is worldwide dude. ;)

Blocked out the plate. I looked up the 4" tuff country lift and that looks right - don't think it's any bigger like a 5.5" . Anybody have any opinions on this kit? I'm not sure if now that I have it if I want to go bigger, definitely want to run bigger tires though. Thanks for all the help.

It's a decent budget kit. I wouldn't take it crawling the Rubicon or jumping it out in a desert (at least not without a bunch of reinforcement), but for mild-moderate wheeling (typical logging/mining/powerline/fire roads, etc), it'll do decent.

Just keep an eye on your axle pivot brackets for cracks if you use it hard.
