So, I do some towing with my 2001 Ford Explorer Sport Trac and have heard people talking about getting a "transmission oil cooler" installed to keep the oil temp down especially when doing long tows, mountanous tows, or close to the limit tows.

Any recommendations????

Stacked plate.....is there somewhere I should look for in the phone book? Would a Tranny shop know about this and install it? I dread the dealership and I think there is only one Truck specialty shop here in Winnipeg.

Thanks.

I have a '02 XLT with class 3/4 hitch and a D4/46 real axle came standard when I bought the truck new 7yrs ago. Can someone tell me how to check if the transmission cooler is already installer or not??

I'd really like to know this as well if anyone knows.

Thanks.

if there is cooler in front of your radiator with metal lines coming out of it that lead to the trans.
or if the radiator has metal lines out of it that lead to the trans.
