I have plenty of injectors from stock mustangs, but they dont look the same as the explorer. what is the rating of the stock fuel injectors?

I have a very noticable miss that I feel is an injector and need to replace it.

did some of the newer explorers come with 30lb injectors too?

thanks!

Rick

99% sure they are all 19's

thanks...do you know if 19's from a v8 stang will work as a replacement?

I found out from a buddy of mine today (who has taken apart 3 explorer motors) that they should be 19's. However, all 3 that he has taken apart had red top 30's! this is very strange to me....will do some more digging!

EZ - Fuel injector size calculations.

8-Cyl. engines:Horsepower / 16 = Injector size 6-Cyl engines: Horsepower / 12 = Injector size 4-cyl engines: Horsepower / 8 = Injector size

From everythign I have searched on the web for including several auto parts stores, the 4.0 OHV exploders have 19# injectors. I developed a miss in mine as well, new plugs and wires and still it misses. I am gogin to pull the injectors and Ohm them out . If that is good, I will take htem to my buddies shop and have them checked for spray pattern and flow.

The newer injectors will not work on the older motors. One is high impedence and the other is low. Cant remember which is which or what year they changed. I would guess 95.

I also 19's from a 94-95 thunderbird...one way or another, I should be able to make them work.

I swapped some stock 19lb injectors from my mustang in there and it worked like a charm. just thought I would post up the results..
