what other 4.6 will work in a 2002,f150?

My 4.6 blew up and Im looking for a replacement.I have been trying to find out what donor cars with a 4.6 will work in it.Im not even sure if the one in it is a romeo or a windsor.For instance,will a 2002 f150 4.6 work?I wouldnt mind changing the external stuff if I need to such as the front cover,accessories for the belt,intake,ect...Are the 4.6 car engines totally different from the trucks?Thanks in advance for any replies.

it's not a windsor, it's a modular 2v 4.6L. you should be able to use a 2002-2004 4.6L from a Mustang GT; i'm not sure about the F150's tho, i think 02-03 f150 should work.

Here is some information I have gotten from a Hollander Interchange listing. If you have a Ford F150 with a Romeo eng (Vin Code W) 2002 & 03 (4.6L). If you have a Windsor eng the following apply. 2001-2003 (4.6L), VIN code 6, with engine tag 2G-912-AA. FORD F150 PICKUP 2001 (4.6L), VIN code 6 (Windsor), eng tag 2G-912-AB
FORD F150 PICKUP 2002 (4.6L), VIN code 6 (Windsor), eng tag 2G-912-AB, BA and BB
FORD F150 PICKUP 2003 (4.6L), VIN code 6 (Windsor), eng tag 2G-912-AB.
Electrical accessories & fuel induction systems may differ. Compare and switch as required.
